Copeland Park & Events Center Rocks All Summer Long
Over 10,000 Fans Attended the Altra Rocks Summer Concert Series
LA CROSSE, WI – As the last note came through the speakers on Saturday, September 16, Copeland Park & Events Center’s Altra Rocks Summer Concert Series came to a close. Over 10,000 fans attended the summer series, breaking attendance records for the concert venue and raising over $10,700 for local educational scholarships.
After closing out the 2022 season with rock legends Stone Temple Pilots at the venue, it was clear, fans were eager for a summer of rock at the ballpark in 2023. Copeland Events collaborated with Altra Federal Credit Union to form a Summer Concert Series highlighting different rock acts over the course of the summer. As part of this partnership, $1 for every ticket sold to the series would go toward the Altra Rocks Scholarship.
“Everyone who attends live rock music knows it’s special. We had been looking for an opportunity to bring this experience to our community and find a way to give back,” said Steve Koenen, President and CEO of Altra Federal Credit Union. “Through our partnership with Copeland Park and Events Center, we were able to bring inspiring rock acts to our area and fund scholarships that will empower the next generation to achieve their dreams!”
Continuing throughout the Spring, Copeland Park & Events Center announced the three-part Altra Rocks Summer Concert Series. As fans signed up for pre-sale access and started guessing what the next announcement would be, the anticipation built for what was going to be a summer of music.
Act I kicked off the summer on Saturday, June 10th as Theory of a Deadman, Black Stone Cherry, & Saint Asonia took the stage. Gin Blossoms, Sugar Ray, Tonic, and Fastball followed, rocking the stage on Thursday, August 31st for Act II.
As the summer nights started to come to the end, it was time for one last act of the series. A record breaking number of attendees filled the ballpark as Three Days Grace & Chevelle took the stage for Act III on Saturday, September 16th.
“This was an incredible journey and one that I won’t soon forget. To work with our community partners and fans to bring this series to light was so memorable and rewarding on so many levels,” said Ben Kapanke, Copeland Park and Events Center General Manager. “A huge thank you to all of our sponsors for trusting us to make this series special, our staff for all the work going into this process and you the fans for coming out and supporting live music all summer long! We can’t wait to get to work on 2024.”
Fans traveled from all over the midwest and even the country to take in the Altra Rocks Summer Concert Series at Copeland Park & Events Center! It was a summer to remember, and only time will tell what Copeland Events has in store for next summer.
This year’s concert series was presented in part by Altra Federal Credit Union, 95.7 The Rock, Z93, Brickl Bros., Edwards Investments, G.E.C.U., Morrie’s Auto Group, Trane, and WXOW News 19.
